The Ultimate Descendant Project is a plan to adapt and apply the technology and equipment of the Ancestors, found throughout Ingris, or adapt specialized Arche genes, to the characteristics of active Descendants. The ultimate goal is to enhance every Descendant into the form of the Ancestors, the forerunners of humanity.
Sharen's Ultimate Project was led by Anais, after accepting Sharen's official proposal for the project. Sharen had two conditions for her Ultimate Project. It must be a body that does not need to be maintained by the Magisters, and it must be able to feel pain. These were the two conditions.
The first Anais chose to work on was to improve nerve stimulation technology for pain. By refining the sensors that connected to the autonomic nervous system, she was able to develop nerve sensors that could feel pain at the level of a normal human body, rather than the aggressive phantom pain of the previous system. This was done so that Sharen's mind and self would no longer be dependent on the aggressive pain and body prosthetic. Since this was the Ultimate Project, she controlled the amount of phantom pain that could occur after the project so that Sharen could perform at her best.
The development of a humanoid body prosthetic to house this nerve stimulation technology went much faster. The model upon which the development was based was the Ultimate Equipment that Strike Team 1 of the Colon Special Forces had once acquired in pursuit of an elite Vulgus. It was more of a body prosthetic with an artificial circulatory system than a suit that could be worn, and could not be easily adapted to any of the active Descendants. Upon its capture, there were attempts to disassemble and reassemble it, but its highly technical neural network was beyond the reach of any of the Magisters. The Ultimate Equipment that had been reduced to a pile of junk now found an unwavering owner. It was fully Arche compatible, yet it could still utilize Sharen's combat skills. It was the perfect equipment for Sharen's Ultimate Project.
Adapting the finished body prosthetic to her Arche was made easier by the fact that the Magisters had retained all the data from Sharen's growth. As her vengeance came to a close, it was as if a stagnation had been lifted and things started looking up. After being transplanted into her new ultimate body prosthetic, Sharen stepped down from the workbench and smiled mysteriously as she took her first steps. She wiggled her toes and tried to move her hands. Her senses were sharp, but not sensitive. She suddenly realized just how much pain she'd lived with, and how she could now live like a sharpened blade. This is how humans survive. They act while feeling these sensations. Anais looked at Sharen and muttered.
"That's the end of this long project. Good job, Sharen Julicia."
But Sharen replied with a thin smile.
"No, the story of Sharen Julicia... has just begun."
Ultimate Equipment, Humanoid Ultimate Body Prosthetic "Julicia"
While every Ultimate Project is optimized for a specific Descendant, Sharen's Ultimate Project was a little different for Anais. While previous Ultimate Projects have been designed to push the limits of humanity, Sharen's was the opposite. The goal was to limit things to "the best one can do as a human being". Anais began this Ultimate Project by changing the name of the body prosthetic. This project was designed for a person with a mind as tough as steel, who wanted to know the limits of what it meant to be human.
"There's no need for a fancy name for this equipment since this body prosthetic is for her alone."
